Where should I give?

This is for use for such expenses as equipment, coaching salaries, travel, meals, tournament fees, etc. Funds are controlled by the Rugby Alumni Chapter and released for use as requested by the Head Coach and the Team President. -
Kevin Higgins Rugby Endowment
"The Kevin Higgins Rugby Endowment will provide the long term sustainability to the Rugby Team required to provide adequate funding for top tier coaching, recruitment, equipment and the ability for players to focus their efforts on excellence – on the field and in the classroom."
These funds are for long term sustainability of the team. Funds are invested with the Cal Poly Foundation which historically averages 9% annual return (1% of which goes to administrative costs). Annual payouts are available on July 1 of the year. Funds available to the team each year equal 4.5% of the average Fair Market Value of the previous 12 months. It is up to the team and Rugby Alumni Association to decide whether the annual payout should be made or retained in the fund to increase future growth.
Because Cal Poly Rugby is a club sport, we do not receive the funding that athletic programs do. During the teams rise to national power, expenses have risen dramatically. Playing a season of rugby could cost players up to $1000 of their own money. Because of this, we need to find other ways to fund our seasons. We have a sponsorship program that provides different benefits for team donations. Please take a look at the following information.
Jersey Sponsor: This is a sponsor who donates approximately $1300 for a new set of team jerseys. An additional $1000 may be donated to add a company patch to the front of the jerseys
Corporate Sponsor: This is a sponsor who donates more than $1000.
Restaurant Sponsor: This is a sponsor who allows us to have our after game functions at their restaurant or eating establishment. A restaurant sponsor reserves seating and donates free or discounted food to players after games. The money should be made up to you by beverage sales. We play 4-6 home games per year.
Basic Sponsor: This is a sponsorship of $500

Donations
Kevin Higgins Endowment:
The Kevin Higgins Rugby Alumni Association Endowment was established by Cal Poly Rugby Alumni Association in memory of Cal Poly Rugby player Kevin Higgins (’86). Kevin Higgins was one of Rugby’s premier players and was recently named by USA Rugby, an All Time Eagle XV’s for 1976-2000. Higgins played in two Rugby World Cups, captained the United States Representative Rugby Team “The Eagles,” and was Cal Poly’s first two-time “All American” Rugby Player. Rugby alumni chose to honor Kevin’s memory by creating this endowment in his name.
This endowment is the first of its kind for a Cal Poly Sports Club Alumni Association. Due to the dedication of rugby alumni, the endowment exceeded the required minimum $10,000 threshold in December 1999. This fund will provide an annual payout to the club to meet expenses including travel, equipment, and supplies. Your donation to this fund will provide long-term revenues to the Rugby Club, which will be invested by the Cal Poly Foundation and will grow each year, in perpetuity.
Cal Poly appreciates your tax-deductible donations to support the Rugby Club. Cal Poly will acknowledge all donations.
