Cal Poly Ruggers get into the Christmas Spirit with the Salvation Army

Posted on

Before the Cal Poly Ruggers headed home for the winter break, they joined forces with the athletics department’s student-athlete advisory committee, Block P, to raise money to buy and donate Christmas gifts for the Salvation Army’s Angle Tree Program.

The Rugby Club, the only club program to participate in this activity, and the 20 varsity programs at Cal Poly collected almost $4,000 in donations to provide gifts for 47 kids who signed up for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

“Participating in the Angle Tree charity program was a great experience for the Cal Poly Rugby guys.” said Cal Poly Vice President Danny Price. “It was very humbling to be apart of this fantastic program that gives back to the community, and make kids holidays that much happier. We’re looking forward to being involved again next year.”
