National 7′s

For those of you who are not able to be with the team at Texas A&M, the Mustangs did a terrific job today in the pool rounds of the National 7′s tournament. They had a rough start against the University of Wisconsin but soon got their feet under them and came out on top with a 24-12 win. Then after a 3 hour break they paired up against Life, one of the top teams in this competition. It was a tough game and the Mustangs were up 17-12 with a minute left, but Life was able to sneak into the try zone for the tie and then win it with a conversion, 17-19 Life. Then finally the Mustangs played the University of Texas with hopes of still qualifying for the championship bracket. The video below is of this game and you can watch for yourselves as Cal Poly out preforms the University of Texas and wins it 39-5. Tomorrow the Mustangs will be competing for the Cup, they were able to secure one of the wildcard spots by scoring more points than any of the teams that did not win their pool.
