The Cal Golden Bears came away victors over the Cal Poly Mustangs with a solid 79-26 final score, but the Mustangs managed a bonus point for scoring four tries and outscored Cal in the second forty.
Cal showed up to play right from kickoff and took advantage of the Cal Poly mistakes they forced by applying pressure. The set piece match was fairly even throughout, but the Golden Bears were able to convert tries on mauling lineouts four times throughout the match.
At the intermission Cal was clearly running away with the game after building a 57-0 lead.
The Mustangs came out in the second forty and showed their heart and desire by continually attacking Cal. The outcome was Cal Poly outscoring Cal 26-22 after the break.
The try zone was found by junior lock Bobby Mcneal, freshman fullback Dom Ferri, and junior wings Landis Nasser and Jake Gersh.
The Mustangs are looking forward to matching up against Claremont College in LA for their final outing of the season.
